Start of the School Day
Reception children: Children are escorted into the classroom by their teachers at 8.55 am. We ask that parents stay with their child until the bell rings, then the children are accompanied into the classroom. We ask that parents line up with their children at the classroom door.
Year 1 and 2: School staff will be on the playground at 8.50 am to meet and greet the children. Children are then escorted into the classroom by their teachers. Parents must stay with their child until they are accompanied into school by their class teacher or another school adult. This is to ensure their safety.
Children should be in school and ready to start lessons at 9.00 am. If children arrive after this they will be given a late mark in the register. This is to comply with our health and safety/fire regulations.
All children must be accompanied to school by a responsible adult. Children should not be left unattended in the playground. This is to comply with safeguarding regulations.
End of the School Day
Reception children can be collected from the classroom at 3.25 pm.
Year 1 and Year 2 - School finishes at 3.30 pm. Parents are asked to stand in the playground where they are visible to the class teacher. Children are then dismissed by the teacher to meet their adult in the playground. All Year 1 children assemble in the classroom near the middle entrance so parents can be seen by the class teachers. It is expected that parents ensure a responsible adult collects their child. If you are unable to collect your child and have asked someone else to pick her/her up, please let us know. Due to safeguarding issues and new guidance we are not permitted to allow any children to go home with anyone under the age of 16. This has been sent to us from the Kirklees safeguarding team and we are legally bound to comply with this.
Please note that there is no supervision in the playgrounds before and after school. We ask that children DO NOT play on the reception outdoor equipment as this is an outdoor classroom and not a play area. We DO NOT accept responsibility for any accidents that occur before or after school as this area is not supervised by school staff.
